Our prediction for the future in travel

Mary Kreutzer and Sarah Watson at LABTA

Travel Placement Service had the pleasure of being represented by our manager, Sarah Watson on a panel of experts at the recent LABTA meeting held January 13, 2016 in Los Angeles.

Sarah touched on how bright and healthy the horizon looks for job opportunities in the travel industry over the next 5 years. So much so, we anticipate there could be a shortage of qualified agents to fill all of those positions. "The new recruits entering the travel business today are tech savvy and possess good customer service skills. What they lack is the GDS skillset." She spoke about the need to educate the employers to give these quick-learning industry newbies a chance.

Sarah also mentioned our collaboration with Sabre Travel Network, offering the at-your-own-pace computer training modules with Sabre Personal Trainer. (Which incidentally is also a great tool for those experienced agents needing a brush-up Sabre training course or conversion training from another GDS.)

What sets Travel Placement Service apart from all the others?

Sarah spoke about the great reputation Travel Placement Service has earned over the last 24 years exclusively serving the travel industry, our expansive database filled with qualified candidates and leading employers giving us the edge in "matchmaking", along with our generous referral reward program!

When asked about the future in travel, Sarah predicted that "more and more companies will transition to a virtual environment as technology improves making it an easy transition from brick and mortar to telecommuting".
